Virginia Wesleyan University requires that all students attending VWU have personal health insurance. VWU Student Health Insurance Plan (SHIP) cost for the 2024-2025 academic year is $2,789.00. Each student will be automatically enrolled. Your student account has already been charged for the student health insurance plan. If you are currently enrolled under a coverage comparable to that of the University, you have the option to opt out of the University sponsored plan by completing the insurance waiver . To access the online waiver, choose your school and click on Waive your School’s insurance. If you are insured through Virginia Wesleyan University sponsored Student Health Insurance plan you should go online to insurance waiver to re-enroll in the plan.
The waiver due date is August 31, 2024 (February 15, 2025 for spring waivers). If your waiver is not received by August 31, 2024 (February 15, 2025 for spring waivers) you will automatically be enrolled and covered by the policy through July 2025 and are responsible for the insurance premium. The insurance waiver and enrollment must be completed each year.
