Dr. Sullivan teaches the special education courses here at Virginia Wesleyan. She also teaches reading and elementary curriculum courses. Dr. Sullivan also supervises teachers during their practicum experience. She has made presentations on special education topics at professional conferences. Dr. Sullivan was employed by the St. Mary's County Public School system in Maryland for 30 years. She was a teacher, elementary principal, director of elementary schools and director of student services and special education. She has taught at five other colleges during her professional life. Dr. Sullivan joined the Virginia Wesleyan faculty in 1999 assuming a full time position since fall, 2001.
