Praxis Core Requirement

The Praxis Core test is one of the requirements for admission to the Teacher Education Program. Once the student passes all sections of the Praxis Core test and meets the other requirements for admission, the student can be admitted to the Education Program.  Acceptable SAT scores can be used as a substitute test for  Praxis Core.

SAT as a Substitute Test for Praxis Core

Praxis Subject Assessment Requirement

The appropriate Praxis Subject Assessment test must be taken and passed before student teaching. The licensure application can be submitted for teacher certification after the student has passed VCLA, RVE (Elementary PreK-6; and Special Education General Curriculum K-12 only), and the appropriate Praxis Subject Assessment and completed all other program requirements.
