Music is the cornerstone of a liberal arts education and at Virginia Wesleyan University you’ll develop your creativity through a nurturing student-focused approach. Here, you’ll be guided by nationally recognized faculty who are both exceptional teachers and gifted artists. Our well-rounded liberal arts curriculum ensures that you will develop the skills and knowledge needed to succeed after graduation.
VWU is dedicated to sharing its musical resources with the entire campus. In addition to preparing music majors and minors to become professional musicians, educators, arts managers and church musicians, private instruction and ensemble performance is available to everyone, whether beginner or advanced, regardless of major, and most music classes are open to all students.
Performing in ensembles, whether college choirs, jazz ensembles, or drumming groups offers wonderful preparation for many of life’s “team-sports” such as leading a research team, a surgical team, a church staff, or a school of teachers.
Develop your creativity through study and performance and build a life that matters to you and the world around you.
