How to Apply

Credentials required for International Students attending secondary schools

  • Application completed and signed.
  • Official transcripts from each secondary school sent directly to the University from the secondary school.
  • Official copy of TOEFL or SAT scores if not provided on the secondary school transcript.
  • Statement of English proficiency, if native language is not English.
  • Completed Financial Disclosure Form.

Credentials required for International Students attending a college or university

  • Application completed and signed.
  • Official transcripts from each college or university attended, sent directly from that institution to VWU.
  • Official copies of TOEFL scores.
  • Official copies of secondary school transcripts.
  • Statement of English proficiency.
  • Completed Financial Disclosure Form.

College Entrance Tests

For entering freshmen, Virginia Wesleyan requires either the TOEFL or SAT I scores, but we also recommend the SAT II Writing Test for placement purposes only. All international students whose native language is not English must submit TOEFL scores. A TOEFL score of at least 550 on the written test or 80 on the Internet-based exam. (Past scores of 213 for the computer-based test are still accepted), or an IELTS score of 6.0.

Deadlines

It is to the candidate's advantage to send the application and all pertinent credentials for admissions to the Office of Enrollment prior to June 1 for the fall semester and prior to November 1 for the spring semester.
