IT Support Specialist
The IT Support Specialist is the first line of technical support for the faculty, staff, and students of the university. This position fields Tier 1 and Tier 2 phone calls and walkup support cases, classroom technology support and deskside support when necessary. This position also installs software, images computers, and performs hardware and software repairs on both desktop and laptop computers.
Qualified candidates should have an Associate’s degree in an IT related field or two to four years of experience in an IT support role; be able to handle and work with interruptions during normal office hours; be able to learn quickly, be attentive to detail, well organized, a team player, able to meet deadlines; have excellent written and verbal communication, interpersonal skills, be able to interact with people in a warm, professional manner, and work with sometimes minimal supervision; and have extensive experience with Microsoft Office and Microsoft Windows and possess the ability to learn new technologies. Experience with Active Directory and academic audio/visual equipment are both a plus.
