Instructional Technologist

The Instructional Technologist position serves a key role at the university, helping faculty, staff, and students excel with the investigation and use of educational technology. They will work as an integral part of the Malbon Center for Technology team.  This position will have the responsibility and be a leader in recommending, implementing, and assessing new technologies.

The position will be responsible for providing direction, supporting its use, and advancement of our SaaS implementation of Blackboard.  They will take part in and lead educational software trainings for faculty and staff.  They will create how-to website documentation and training materials in support of our educational technology.  The ideal person will be able to communicate in a way to bridge the gap between tech and non-tech, helping to advance what we can achieve as a university.
Qualified candidates should have a Bachelor’s degree in Instructional Technology or an IT related field with one to three years of instructional technology experience; be able to handle and work with interruptions during normal office hours; be able to learn quickly, be attentive to detail, well organized, a team player, able to meet deadlines; have excellent written and verbal communication, interpersonal skills, be able to interact with people in a warm, professional manner, and work with sometimes minimal supervision; and have experience with Learning Management Systems (LMS), preferably Blackboard, and possess the ability to learn new technologies.  Experience with course evaluation software, Google suite, and the Microsoft Office 365 suite are a plus.
