Assistant Professor of Political Science

VIRGINIA WESLEYAN UNIVERSITY (www.vwu.edu) invites applications for the on campus tenure-track position of Assistant Professor in Political Science, with expertise in Comparative Politics and International Relations, starting in Spring 2023. An earned doctorate in political science or a related field is required at the time of appointment.

We are particularly interested in applications from candidates with research and teaching interests in African politics, security studies, terrorism, and violence. Teaching responsibilities include core undergraduate courses in political science. We welcome candidates who can support our existing programming with their teaching and research.

The University seeks a candidate with a strong commitment to teaching, cross-disciplinary collaboration, student advising, and research. The successful candidate will also have a demonstrated commitment to working in a diverse multicultural community. The teaching load is three four-credit courses per semester with a competitive salary and an attractive benefits package.
