Swanson Crowned ODAC Champion in Shot Put (04-28-2025)
Virginia Wesleyan University’s Mackenzie Swanson claimed the top spot in shot put at the recent ODAC Championship Meet, earning the title of ODAC Champion with a personal-best throw of 11.91 meters, a mark that ranks second in program history.
A standout two-sport athlete, Swanson has balanced an impressive spring competing in both Track & Field and Softball. This is her first year participating in both sports during the same season, and she’s enjoying career-best performances in each.
With her championship win, Swanson earned First Team All-ODAC honors and awaits potential recognition on the All-Region and All-State teams. On the softball field, she’s batting .438 (7-for-16) with four doubles, four runs scored, four RBI, and a stolen base—further showcasing her exceptional athletic versatility.
