Teagle C4 Consortium Grant

The Teagle Foundation

The Curriculum 4 (C4) Consortium is made up of four private liberal arts colleges supported by a Teagle Foundation grant to launch initiatives designed to “create a more coherent and intentional curriculum whose goals, pathways, and outcomes are clear to students and other constituencies.” Collectively, these projects are advancing coherence primarily by modifying the overall structure of the curriculum in ways that will make it more transparently developmental, more conducive to the incorporation of high-impact practices, and more explicitly tied to the learning outcomes and skills that the institutions have identified for their graduates. By pursuing these changes in active consultation with one another, the C4 partners are establishing a vibrant “faculty community across multiple institutions and disciplines” that promotes “inter-institutional learning.”

The institutions forming the C4 Consortium are Davis & Elkins College, Eckerd College, Shenandoah University, and Virginia Wesleyan College.
