An abundance of service opportunities are offered through our partnership with Haygood United Methodist Church located two miles away at 4713 Haygood Road. Students have opportunities to engage in service throughout the semester in numerous ways. Some include:
- Backpack Program - packing food for elementary schools
- H.A.R.K. (Haygood Acts of Random Kindness) - community service
- engage with youth group program & events
- Haygood Preschool science & music instructors
- Appalachia Service Project
Students are also encouraged to become involved in service through the Center for Civic Engagement and Service Learning (Wesleyan Engaged) located in 113 Clarke.
Some opportunities include:
- Good Samaritan Community Garden
- Habitat for Humanity
- tutoring in local schools
- events to raise funds and donations for the South Hampton Roads Food Bank
