Wesleyan Promise Supports 132 Returning Students
Virginia Wesleyan College recently awarded 132 Wesleyan Promise scholarships to returning students in amounts ranging from $500 to $4,000, providing vital support for those who may face financial challenges in continuing their education at VWC. A committee of faculty and staff, chaired by Financial Aid Director Teresa Rhyne, reviewed more than 250 applications and made the final award decisions in early May. Scholarships are awarded based on academic performance, financial need, extracurricular involvement, and conduct consistent with the College’s mission and core values. Launched in the 2014-2015 academic year, the Wesleyan Promise reflects a mutual commitment to success on the part the student and Virginia Wesleyan College.
