Why did you choose the Batten Honors College?
I chose the BHC because I wanted the opportunity to complete multiple experiential learning opportunities, such as study aways and internships, to develop myself for future career paths.

Highlight a specific research, internship, or study abroad experience(s).
In joining the BHC, I have done just that; I have had the opportunity to study abroad in Israel and complete an internship at a company called HDT Global.

How did the BHC curriculum or program prepare you for this experience?
The BHC opened my eyes to new opportunities I felt I would not get elsewhere and prepared me for them in a number of ways.  Specifically for my Israel study away, I was offered multiple opportunities to meet and work with my classmates and professors before leaving on the trip.  Additionally, everyone you are studying away with is also in the BHC, which exemplifies this living learning community they have built here.

What do/did you hope to achieve/gain from this experience?
Along with the friendships I built in Israel, I also gained a new outlook on life from the perspective of those under constant oppression. Additionally, I gained plenty of work experience through my internship with HDT Global in engineering, which I see myself doing in the future.

List of things involved with on campus (sports teams, clubs, academic competitions/teams, positions held and description of duties)
Apart from the BHC I am involved with the Esports team, Cross country and Track teams, and Marlins Red Cross.

List any awards, recognitions, and/or conference presentations
In Cross Country and Track, I have been named to the All Academic Team for the 2019-20 school year.

Anything else you would like to share about your experiences with BHC
I have built friendships here that will last a lifetime. Not only do you meet 40 people on your first day here, but many of them will become your friends and fellow students that help you in any way possible.
