College Appoints Chief Information Officer

Robert Leitgeb heads Virginia Wesleyan's technology department

Robert Leitgeb has been appointed Virginia Wesleyan College’s chief information officer, effective Jan. 4.

Leitgeb will lead the College’s technology department and serve on the senior staff of Virginia Wesleyan College President Scott D. Miller.

"Robert is a respected leader in the profession—a strategic thinker—who will bring visionary leadership to our technology areas," said President Miller. "The higher education landscape is continuously changing and we are confident that he will strategically lead our academic and administrative technology program to new levels."

Leitgeb previously served as executive director of IT services at California’s Fresno Pacific University, a liberal arts institution with an enrollment of 3,600. He also held roles as director of technical operations, director of IT projects, technical services manager, and technical services coordinator. He has served as a network specialist with TGM Dataworks in Hanford, California, communications specialist with Arrival Communications in Visalia, California, and technical sales specialist with Westcoast Wireless, Inc., in Tulare, California.

He holds a B.B.A. in management and organizations from Idaho State University and an M.A.Ed. in instructional technology from Fresno Pacific University.
