Virginia Wesleyan University Global Campus offers comprehensive non-degree continuing education courses designed to provide advanced skill sets valued by employers. Because of COVID-19's economic impact on our communities, VWU Global Campus—in partnership with the Hampton Roads Workforce Council and Virginia Beach Department of Economic Development—is offering the following professional development workshops at no cost to you.

Workshop Information

February 5 – March 26

Project Management Essentials with CAPM Prep
Saturdays from 8:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m.
Virginia Wesleyan University (Clarke Hall, Room 125)

Participants will gain skills essential to project managers and those in support roles, with course materials aligned with the internationally recognized standards of project management. Oriented to concepts such as time, cost, risk, and communication. Once completed, participants will meet or exceed the educational prerequisites for the Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM®) certification offered through the Project Management Institute (PMI®).


February 7 – March 30

Microsoft Excel Certification Training
Mondays/Wednesdays from 6:00-8:00 p.m.
The Hive in Virginia Beach
140 Independence Blvd., Virginia Beach

Participants will learn to create, modify, and format Microsoft Excel worksheets, perform calculations, and print workbooks. Teaches formulas and formatting techniques, use of lists, illustrations, and charts. Also showcases Excel’s advanced features, such as pivot tables, audit worksheets, data tools, macros, and collaboration methods.


February 7 – March 30

Supply Chain Logistics Workshop
Mondays/Wednesdays from 6:00-8:00 p.m.
The Hive in Virginia Beach
140 Independence Blvd., Virginia Beach

This workshop will provide the fundamentals of supply chain management, freight transportation and logistics, and customer service.  Participants will learn transportation and logistics, how to manage a shipment, and how to manage export and import documents. Topics include shipping processes, document management for exporting and importing products, and transportation costs.

Google Web Design w/Certificate of Completion
Tuesdays/Thursdays from 6:00-8:00 p.m.

Learn how to use Google Web Design to create interactive websites. Google Web Design is a responsive web design services program that allows a web designer to create interactive HTML-based designs. This workshop will cover the basics and essentials you will need to know in web design.
A Gmail account is required for this workshop.
