Virginia Wesleyan University invites the Marlin community to come together for a celebration of connection, purpose, and pride. “Rooted in Impact: Marlins Day of Giving,” culminating on April 24, 2026, is more than a single day—it’s a series of meaningful opportunities for students, alumni, faculty, staff, and friends to engage with the University and each other in powerful ways.
The celebration begins in April, with a focus on reconnecting. As spring brings renewed energy to campus, Marlins are encouraged to rediscover all that VWU has to offer. From browsing the Marlin Marketplace to attending the Marlin Business Conference this month, the month of April highlights the vibrancy of campus life. Spring Alumni Weekend offers a chance to reunite with classmates, while performances like Avenue Q and Marlins athletic competitions showcase the talent and spirit that define the University. It’s a month designed to remind the community that there are countless ways to stay connected and involved.
The momentum continues on Saturday, April 18, with a day dedicated to service. Marlins are invited to roll up their sleeves and make a tangible difference by volunteering in the Community Garden alongside Epworth Campus Ministries. Students, alumni, and staff will work side by side in a hands-on effort that supports sustainability while strengthening community bonds. The experience not only gives back but also fosters new relationships and a shared sense of purpose.
On Thursday, April 23, the focus shifts to celebration. Marlins everywhere are encouraged to show off their school spirit and share their pride. Whether wearing VWU gear, engaging on social media, tuning into University podcasts, or sharing personal stories, the day highlights the many ways the Marlin community is making a positive impact. It’s an opportunity to amplify voices, celebrate achievements, and reflect on the leadership, service, and innovation happening across campus and beyond.
All of this leads to Friday, April 24—Marlins Day of Giving. On this day, the entire community is invited to invest in the future of Virginia Wesleyan.
