University Names Chief Information Officer

Dr. Chris Davis will oversee instructional technology, computer services, and cyber security

Dr. Chris Davis has been appointed as Virginia Wesleyan University’s Chief Information Officer, President Scott D. Miller has announced. He will lead Virginia Wesleyan’s Office of Information Technology, including instructional technology, computer services, cyber security, and Helpdesk.

“We are delighted to welcome Chris to the Virginia Wesleyan community,” says Dr. Miller. “He brings to the University extensive experience as an administrator and instructor, including in the online space, and his background is an ideal fit as we grow our web-based programs through VWU Online.”

Davis currently serves as Chief Information Officer and Assistant Professor of Education at Lourdes University in Ohio and was previously Vice President for Information Systems and Technology/CIO at the University of Central Arkansas. He holds a B.S. in education from Clarion University of Pennsylvania, an M.S. in education/instructional technology from Duquesne University, and a Ph.D. in instructional management and leadership from Robert Morris University. He will join the Marlin family in May.
