Writing and Speaking Studio
Our Professional Writing Consultants and Peer Writing Tutors can assist you with any type of writing at all stages of the process. Central to our philosophy is that writing is a process that begins in the early planning stage and progresses through drafting and revising to the final editing of a document. Consultants guide and assist students by asking questions, making suggestions, and pointing them toward useful writing resources. While Consultants do not fix or correct papers for students, they do help students locate errors and learn how to self-edit. Writing Consultants are also regularly available in Hofheimer Library. Make an appointment at WCOnline or just drop in.Professional Speaking Consultants are also available to help students in public speaking, including capstone projects, undergraduate research, and study abroad reflections. The Speaking Consultants can record practice sessions for feedback and/or help students prepare an outline, presentation aids, vocal (projection, diction, elocution) and nonverbal delivery, and speech anxiety. Practice and preparation are keys for great success. Make an appointment at WCOnline or just drop in.
