Federal Pell Grant (Pell)
Need-based grant funded by the federal government. The amount is determined by government calculation.

Federal Supplemental Educational Opportunity Grant (FSEOG)
Need-based grant funded by the federal government. Awards are based on calculated need and the availability of funds.

TEACH Grant
Declared Education Majors, must maintain 3.25 cumulative GPA, pass the Praxis I Exam and complete both the TEACH Grant Counseling requirement and Agreement to Serve (online at www.teach-ats.ed.gov) as a full-time, highly qualified teacher in a high-need field in a public or private elementary or secondary school that serves low-income students for four (4) out of eight (8) years after degree completion. Awards are $4,000 per academic year, maximum $16,000 total. Virginia Wesleyan University only offers TEACH Grants to students that have been accepted into our Education Program.

Virginia Tuition Assistance Grant (VTAG)
Requires completion of VTAG application by July 31 and domiciliary residence. Awards subject to state funding.

Virginia Two-Year Transfer Grant
Requires EFC of 12,000 or less, 3.0 GPA and associates degree. Awards $1000 per year; additional $1000 based on specific major. Students are responsible for notifying the FAO that they may be eligible for this grant.
