Tyler A. Lehrer (he/him) is an assistant professor of Indian Ocean and global history. He received a Ph.D. in South and Southeast Asian history from the University of Wisconsin–Madison in 2024 and an M.A. in religious studies from the University of Colorado Boulder in 2016. His primary research, publication, and teaching areas encompass religion and politics in the Indian Ocean, European seaborne empires, transregional and transnational religious and political movements in the global south, and gender and sexual diversity in the early modern world.
