A native of West Palm Beach, Florida, Virginia has been Craig's home since 2001 where he's worked as Visiting Assistant Professor in the psychology department at Randolph-Macon Woman's College and Lynchburg College. Prior to moving to Lynchburg, he earned his Ph.D. and M.A. degrees in social and personality psychology from Florida Atlantic University and my B.S. in psychology from the University of Florida. Craig's research interests include social cognition, particularly impression management and impression formation, the assessment and consequences of person-environment fit, and group dynamics. He enjoys using the tools of an experimental psychologist to help understand both applied and theoretical problems. Craig particularly likes sharing his interests in research with students by supervising independent projects and encouraging them to present their work at regional and national conferences. Most recently, his students have presented projects on topics such as the academic self-concepts of African-American college students and the positive and negative aspects of gossip.
